I Hate You State Farm

You Kept Me Up All Night Laughing!

~~

State Farm and Laughing?    Huh??

Normally insurance companies might make you cry but laugh?  Never mind keeping me up all night chuckling.

Let me go on record right now saying

I LOVE STATE FARM COMMERCIALS!

They make me smile and feel good. Face it, they make you smile and feel good if you would admit it to yourself.

It started with the one commercial we all quote and love. I hope it never goes off the air.

    State Farm Jake“It’s Jake from State Farm”

Yep, she still sounds hideous, that Jake from State Farm… LOL  Gets me every time!

My new favorite that equally puts a smile on my face since it is played so dead straight and so witty is our extreme planner

State Farm Retiring Lady

“I’d Like to Put in my 15 Year Notice”
“You’re Totally Blind Siding Me”

LOLL  I have no idea why it tickles me. But I just get a big smile every time I see it.

(This is the one that had me laughing all night then got me thinking about making this post…

Now, there is the other hilarious with the fisherman… LOL

State Farm got a dollar

And who can forget about Jimmie?

State Farm 6 Callers Ahead

And yes, sometimes they just tug at our heart strings

State Farm Ill Never

(You know it gets you)

But yet. They all can’t be a hit. There is one commercial I actually hate when it comes on….

State Farm Elvis 1

Sorry Elvis (and Elvis, and Elvis, oh and Elvis)

You can’t win them all

State Farm Elvis 2

Just had to share this when I saw it…LOL

I have TIVO. I never watch commercials, but I will stop the TV just to watch the Jake and the Retirement ones. They make me laugh that much.

For the record, I have nothing to do with State Farm. However I have been with State Farm as a client since I got my first car 30 years ago. So one might say I like the company and LOVE the commercials    🙂

So….My Question is… Is There Any Commercial That Just Cracks You Up?

Is Laughter the Best Medicine?

Laughter is the Best Medicine

A friend sent this to my Facebook Page and I wanted to share it with some thoughts.

I 100% believe laughter is the best medicine.

Don’t believe me, just try to not stay mad or upset after a good laugh.

If you can, it is because you fought hard to bring those feelings back.

Let them go.

After a good laugh, you think more clearly.

The pain hurts much less.

Your pants might be a little wet…but I digress.

Just know that Laughing is the

Best Medicine in the World!!

~~

Oh…

And if you are laughing for no reason?

Don’t worry about it. It just means you have a trip coming soon to a nice padded room with lots of bumpers.

Should You Make a New Years Resolution?

No

Hmm, maybe that was a little rough.

Oh surrrrrr, go ahead. Make as many New Year’s Resolutions as you can. Join the rush to be rah rah for 30 days promising yourself you wont do this, or you will do that. But don’t come to us in February acting as if you never promised it.    LOL

to do list for Jan

Let’s face it. Only 1 in a 10,000 people are successful with these things,

unattainable new years

Buttttttttt…..

If you want to take some steps to make your life better in 2014, I’m in! Besides,  why be normal? Why be a statistic? Just be you!  Here is what we should do…

be more awesome

We are flawed, but each day we take one step to laugh a little more, move a little more, eat a little better, laugh even more and be kind to others. If we all do a little each day, think about how far you will be on Dec 31, 2014?

I know in 2014 I plan to swing by and laugh with you a little more than I did in 2013. Ok, stop laughing, I did stop by at least 10 times last year so I have a low bar to hurdle.  LOL.

And to start with a few laughs, how about these resolutions I found at Jokes4us.com:  (with a little tweaking for my mind or bad habits or just to make it more 2014..Or to even be a smart ass..Me?? i know…LOL)

New Years Resolutions You Have No Chance At Keeping

When I hear a funny joke I will not reply, “LOL, LMAO, or ROTFLMAO!”  (I’ll screw this one up by 12:01 tonight)

Start using Facebook for something other than Candy Crush or Papa Pear  (How many times do I have to tell you? I don’t play Facebook games!!!……….unless they are on my cell phone)  LOL

Try to figure out why you “really” need 5 Facebook accounts. (Not me but I do know someone…LOL)

Resolve to work with neglected children… your own.  (Hopefully they remember who you are)

Lose 20 pounds by going to the gym!  (Now, that is funny, Let’s get physical, physical, sing it Olivia!)

You will stop using, “So, what’s your URL?” as a pickup line.  (geeks love this one)

You will spend less than five-hour a day on the Internet.  (I see some of you balled up in the corner already sucking your thumb and rocking on this one)

You will spend less than $1000 for coffee at Starbucks this year.  (Once again, I know someone…)

Stop repeating myself again, and again, and again. (And no, you can’t keep blaming Alzheimer’s

You will stop tagging pictures of me in pictures even when I’m not in them   (Seriously, that’s not me, are you blind?)

You will think of a password other than “password” (and yes, stop using 12345 as well!)

im perfect

New Years Resolutions You Can Actually Keep

Read less.  (protect you eyes)

Gain weight. Put on at least 30 pounds. Gain enough weight to get on The Biggest Loser.

Start buying lottery tickets at a luckier store

Stop exercising.  (watch the folks on Biggest Loser do it while you eat ice cream)

Waste  time playing Candy Crush and Papa Pear (Oh yes I will!)

Watch more TV. You’ve been missing some good stuff.  Blacklist???  lol

Watch more movie remakes.  (Then pan them compared to the originals)

Start washing your hands after you use the restroom.  (you know who you are)

Procrastinate more.  (I’ll get around to this one)

I will do less laundry and use more deodorant. (for the guys)

Drink. Drink some more. (One Tequila, two tequila, three tequila …FLOOR)

Stop buying worthless junk on Ebay, because QVC has better specials .

Start being superstitious.  (Hate to tell you, floor 14 is really 13)

Spend more time at work. (I’m a pro at this one)

Stop bringing lunch from home: I should eat out more.  (now I just need some lunch money..got 50 cents?)

Take up a new habit: maybe working on this blog more! ( ok, ok, I’ll try!)

crazy

My New Blog ~ My Other Passion

As you know, I am a very big advocate of laughter in our lives. I’ve gone into great detail over the past year about how I feel having the ability to laugh at yourself as well as the situations that life throws us. Laughter is the key to surviving and it is key to staying young on the inside no matter what is happening to the outside.

My other passion in life is helping others. Coaching, mentoring, inspiring, you name it. I love sharing the life lessons I have learned over the years. This sharing can be anywhere from leadership, business, and a whole variety of day-to-day living. I have a passion to be there for anyone regardless of age, sex, experience, etc. I can just listen or I can give advice. Most of all, I love to help people achieve their goals, their dreams, their ambitions and most of all, help them believe in themselves!

A few posts back I shared I was trying to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. While I haven’t discovered any answers to that question, I do know I should follow my passion and this is what it is. Helping others through my experiences.

Awhile back I began a journey of looking at putting together some learning materials based off the business side of my life. After a successful 25 years in leadership, I did learn a thing or two.  😀

I stopped and started the venture a couple of times, never liking the direction I was going. But I think I know what I was missing. I was missing the fun side of myself. I owe it to you the reader for reminding me of that. I owe it to you for re-inspiring me this time.

I have started my new blog. I hope many of you will not only check it out, but join me for my journey. I’d love for you to participate and add value.

Here is the link…. Tamada Learning

And don’t forget to click follow if you would like to join me. I’d love to have you participate and help others with me.

I’ve read many of your blogs and I know you definitely can add great value as it grows readership.

Two New Duckies for the Collection

OK, I will not lie. I am doing a fluff post today.

But I’m excited about my two new additions to my ducky collection.

Ducky #1 was actually given to me by Buckwheatsrisk, when she saw him she knew I just had to have him.

`

This is Squirt

Isn’t he cute?

He is a happy little fella!

~~~
My other new addition came from my nephews and sister.
He is a big boy. He is much bigger than the other duckies.
Then again, he isn’t a he. I’m pretty sure she is a she.
This is Dotty
Guess she could have been spotty, but she is dotty
Which now makes her the 3rd Dotty in my life.
My late grandmother went by Dotty
(I doubt she came back as a rubber ducky though, but you never know since she went to the beat of her own drummer)
Then I have Dotty Headbanger who lent me her two duckies
Note to self, I may need a page on here for the collection of duckies
(update- check up top – I added one!)
After all, I am sharing with you my adoring fans as I collect them. Seems only fair.
Well there you have it. My two new babies.
Feel free to send me any duckies you think will be good for the collection.
Only catch is, they have to help other’s smile or laugh.
Never Stop Laughing
`
You don’t stop laughing because you grow old,
You grow old because you stop laughing
`
This is so true.
When you lose your ability to laugh I feel a piece of you just starts to die. What keeps us alive is our ability to laugh.
It never fails, if I want to cry over something that has happened, I always find myself laughing. I’ve even gotten in trouble at times due to this.  However, I would never change it.
`
I know I will be an 80-year-old woman who feels half her age due to my ability to laugh. I have met many, many people through this blog who live their life with the same theory. That no matter what garbage that has been thrown their way, they still find a way to laugh.
I wish at times I could help everyone find the humor in a moment. It is even more critical to find our laughter in our darkest moments. It is what helps us survive those times. The greatest feedback I receive is when folks let me know that my blog is part of their daily routine for a laugh. I feel privileged and honored.
`
Let’s all commit to spend the rest of our time here on this earth laughing.
When you have those days where you can’t find your laughter from within, then quickly find your laughter through friends (real or cyber) or through any method you can (TV, movies, Facebook, people watching) – anything – just find it!
I promise, that laugh will help you get moving again.
He’s an Adventurous One
I debated what I was going to write today. I know I have been doing some cheap fun laughs this week. No major life issues trying to find some laughter in. Yes, there have been some life issues, but isn’t that called daily life?
Sometimes I think we just need silly stuff to make us laugh. To be that kid at heart that just finds laughs in stupid things. I’m good at finding laughter in stupid things. Just ask my family.  LOL.
I do have a few posts I’m going to do next week on some more serious stuff, but hell, why ruin a silly week by going all serious? So I will be silly today.
As you know, I’m collecting some new friends. Yesterday I said I would introduce you to him. I’m still deciding what to name him. But for now I’ll call him Duckie.
`
Here is Duckie ~ He’s Hot!
Hot Pink that is.
Now, I discovered that Duckie is pretty adventurous.
On his first day home look at all the stuff he got himself into around the house.
He heard the dogs get treats when I get home, he couldn’t wait for his.
They were a little dry so then he needed some water.
He thought he’d hang out with the other birds
Then he got lost in time.
Silly duck doesn’t know popcorn isn’t good for him.
Hanging out with his new friends having a Coke
Whoops, looks like he found his way to the Pink Truck.
(Least he could do is wash the windows for me).
Rut Ro..I think he is going to hitch a ride!
~
Somehow I think we haven’t seen the end of Duckie’s adventures
To be continued….
~
Have a great weekend everyone!
See you tomorrow for the Sunday Funnies!
How About some Laughs & Some Love
First, I’ll start with the laughs…
Tom:  What do you mean by telling everyone that I’m an idiot?
Sally:  I’m sorry, I didn’t know it was supposed to be a secret!
Q. Why does a flamingo lift up one leg?
A.  Because if he lifted up both legs it would fall over!
Q. What did the triangle say to the circle?
A. You’re pointless.
Q:What does a pickle say when he wants to play cards?
A:Dill me in!
Q. How do crazy people go through the
forest?
A. They take the psycho path.
Knock Knock
Who’s there?
Boo
Boo Who?
Don’t Cry these bad jokes are over now.
Now for the love:
I want to make sure I acknowledge the following folks for sharing their love with me:
Benzeknees who hit me upside the head, I mean tagged me a few days ago. Ok, maybe it was a week ago. I’m a slow runner, what can I say. She’s also great at pushing me to be funny. Or shall I say funnier. Now that I think about it, she is kinda mean to me.  LOL.  just kidding. nut-n but lub!
The Candy over at Finding Order Thru Chaos nominated me for the Liebster Award. Unlike Benzeknees, Candy thinks I’m (and I quote) “Hilarious”. I’d like to think it is just me, but maybe I’m the only one she follows that is messy. Or maybe, she only has dull people in her life. I’m not sure. But for now, I’ll take “Hilarious”.
And if that wasn’t enough, I got this special award from Dotty Headbanger since I am “Brilliant” at pushing the Like Buttons she Forced, I mean I wanted to click for her.
So much love….What’s a Girl to do….
Thank you to you…. Three Unique Women of the Blogging World!
33% of This Year Together
In December 2011 I had a wild and crazy idea.
I would attempt to find humor in life and share that humor every day in 2012. As of today, the year is 33% over. And for the record, it is so unfair that as we get older time just flies by.
I remember when starting a Post a Day in 2012, that I thought there was no way on earth I could think of something funny everyday. I just kept telling myself that I laugh at all kinds of things and since I insist on living my life that way, everything would work out.
Back then I had maybe 20-25 followers and of course my Facebook victims I mean friends and family. Who would want to read this silly blog?
Don’t get me wrong, I always wanted people to read it. Why waste all these good laughs on the few when I could help make people all over the world find at least one laugh in their day.
During our short time, I’ve shared things about myself and things that have happened to me. I’ve also shared things that make me smile or laugh. Sometimes, those things were probably very stupid to some. But to me, they made me giggle. After all, I tend to giggle at stupid things.
As time has gone on, I find that I worry too much if my readers will find something funny or not. We are funny creatures us humans. We want that approval. And as an over achiever, I need to “feel” that I’ve accomplished my mission. That I have succeeded in making you smile or laugh. I find I worry that something will bomb or readers will think it is stupid. Basically, I think too much and sometimes forget my main mission.
As I head into the next 33% of our days together, I’m going to try to focus on what makes me smile or laugh. Sometimes that might not be funny to you. And I have to learn not to stress over that. All that matters is it made me laugh or smile. It might be silly pictures, some trivia, a story about myself, society in general, who knows. But for some reason it struck me as funny. It’s me, Laughing at Everyday Life. I find humor every where.
We are all funny in our own way. Some bloggers are natural story tellers and I’m fascinated at how they can take a day in their life and make it so freaking funny. Some of you share your pain with the world and look to my blog as a possible escape from that pain. Some of you are just sick puppies that have loose screws. And some of you are just funny looking. But one thing I love about all of you, is that you are allowing me the opportunity to help you smile if even for a brief moment in your day.
Thank you to everyone who has viewed / read / trolled / hung out / sped by / accidentally tripped / was looking for butt crack (way too many) and found my little blog.
I hope you continue to hang out and laugh with me for the rest of the year. I’m curious to see how the next few months will play out and how much more I will learn, not only about myself, but about you. Not only have I enjoyed sharing my laughs, but I have loved what I have learned about all of you. It is never easy sharing our lives with others, but if we can help others by sharing our ideas, thoughts, lives, laughter, etc then it is worth it.
If I make just one person smile or laugh, especially when they are in pain or need of a distraction, then my blog obsession in 2012 will be worth it.
I am who I am. A natural ham. Said Sam I am.  (umm, how did that sneak in there?)
Anyways, I’m done with my semi serious post. I’ve had a blast the first 1/3 of the year and I look forward to more laughs together in 2012 and beyond!
