Do you ever fly in your dreams?
I don’t mean in an airplane either. I mean, push-off from your feet and start flying places?
If you don’t, or ever haven’t, you are missing something fun.
When I was a kid, I use to have great flying dreams. I would fly from place to place. Jumping from building to building. If I wanted to visit anything, I’d just push-off and go.
I’m not sure when or why, but I told myself it wasn’t real. No matter how awesome and real it felt, it wasn’t real. I haven’t flown in my dream in a long time. I miss it.
I was talking to a couple of people yesterday about flying in their dreams. They both still fly. They both lit up like Christmas trees when I asked them if they have done it. Big smiles and a resounding YES.
Like a guilty little secret we keep our flying experiences to ourselves. It feels so real, we are afraid others will laugh at us. Little do we know that many, many people experience this all the time.
Ask a kid if they ever fly in their dreams and I bet the vast majority say they do. Encourage them to enjoy this time. Encourage them to fly high and visit anything thing they want.
Life is serious enough, don’t take away this awesome experience from any adult, but definitely never take it away from a child.
And if you are like me, hold on to those memories of flying. My hope is, someday I’ll feel that freedom, that awesome sensation of taking off and soaring once again.
Maybe in another post I’ll share my thoughts about why we do this. But for now, I wonder…
Do You Fly in Your Dreams?
~~~till we laugh again~~~
