Where’s Waldo..I Mean Tammy?

I know some of you are wondering where I’ve been hiding?

Did she fall out of the Non~Normal Tree House?

Did she get locked in her Ice Cream Freezer?

Did the Pink Truck get hijacked?

No, none of those things. I’ve just been busy and by the time I get home, I know I should read some blogs but dang if I don’t get to read as many as I would like.

And it sucks because so many of you have great blogs and I love reading them. (which is really odd since I hate, I mean HATE to read unless I have too)

I’ve noticed this trend with us newer bloggers. We become obsessed with writing ours, and reading others. Then slowly we realize we have neglected our family friends, pets, laundry, the kids, the running water in the bathroom…………..

OH SHIT, be right back………….

Whew…..

Anyone have a sump pump I can borrow?

Oh well, I’m sure the carpet in the hallway will dry and have a nice new odor to it.  LOL

Now where was I ? ? ? ?

Oh yea, hiding like Waldo.

Now, if I could just remember the point of this rambling…………

~~~~
Anyways….
Us new bloggers tend to go crazy reading and writing tons of posts. Then after realizing we have neglected everything in our orbit, we try to be human again. By being human and doing our “real” world stuff, we run out of time to read.
Then that’s when it happens….
Yep….Guilt!
Ton’s of it. Ok, maybe not tons. But a significant amount.
~~~~~~~~~

Now there was a purpose to this post….

Oh ya… i just want to say

I’m Sorry

And I’ll try to be better

Look to Where U R Going

Serious Tammy for a moment…

I saw this on Facebook yesterday and had to save it for here. Many of my readers have gone through some really tough times. We have all had our fair share but some have been dealt some really rough hands.

I write my blog to help others have a moment in their day to laugh or smile. Many of you know that.

There is another side of me that really tries to help offer inspiration to others and to help them see the good that is often missed in the confusion, pain, hurt, anger, you name it.

We are funny creatures. We latch on to the negative. We do this sometimes to help us get better. To find those weaknesses and move forward and improve.

Yet some hold on to the negative not thinking they are “worthy” of the positive or good things. Usually due to some assholes in their past that told them this garbage.

I find inspiration each day from many of you that are courageous to share your story. While you may not have intended to help others, you do with each post, each comment.

Today I wanted to borrow the saying above and remind each of you (and myself on occasion) that we need to always look at how far we have come, not always at how far we have left to go. Celebrate along the journey. Even a step forward is better than no step at all. And yes, two steps forward are still better even if we have to take one step back at the same time. Sometimes we forget that.

Thank you for sharing your story, and I hope I can continue to help along the way….

Tammy

Who Gives a Hoot?

The other night, I was attacked…..

~~~
By a 6in high owl!
Stop Laughing!
~~~

I was meeting my dinner companions at the local buffet at our Casino. It was packed so I had to park in the far end in Tim-Buck-Two.  There is a little walk way you cross from this side parking area to the main parking area.

As I was crossing the little strip I heard this chirping. I look down at my feet and there is a 6  owl staring at me and hooting and chirping. Obviously I’m not the only Human it has seen as it was a brave little sucker.

Doing what any sane person does, I started talking owlish…I said stop laughing.

Hoo u looking at?

We were hooting back and forth for a bit. Me trying to irritate him. (Yep, just like I do people)

Well, I guess he didn’t want to play any more so he spread his wings and took off, right towards me!

He is a jokester too I guess. He swerved right before getting to me and landed a few feet away laughing. Yes laughing. Now I have him laughing at me and you. Hmm.

On the way back later that night, there was an older couple out taking pictures of the owls. They claimed to have counted seven (yes 7!) baby owls.

Now their little home is literally one foot from the road in the cave you see above. So I stroll over to see if I can find my new owl friend and his (or her as I didn’t lift the wing to check) and their brothers and sisters.

Darn, only two….

Two of My New Owl Friends Playing Hide and Seek

I guess the others were out spooking other poor passerby folks. Getting a good laugh at making all us humans speak Hoot.

I was thankful to the guy (or gal) that came up with the idea of sticking a camera in my phone. It’s moments like these that really do make you appreciate this.

Only 10 years ago people would have thought I was just crazy.

Now, they think I’m crazy but I have proof!!

~~~
Have a great day everyone!
Look What I Made Everyone
Ok, so I was starting to do one thing then being the true “Look shiny thing!” person I am, I went in a whole different direction.
I got to thinking about how many people embraced being “Non-Normal last week. And how proud everyone seemed to be.
So I thought, why not make a little badge anyone who wants to, can post on their blog page to celebrate their uniqueness?
Be Unique, be yourself
What do you think?
No pressure. As you can see I’ve added it to my side bar.
I know, I’m silly.
I’m just determined I think to help everyone embrace our differences and realize that normal is boring. Normal is a myth and honestly, I think we all are a little strange in our own way.
Besides, who wants to be like everyone else?
Ok, I have to go accomplish something today…..Just wanted to share….
Dare to Be Different!
The Love Keeps A Coming
I love love.
~~
Especially when the love comes from you the reader. It lets’ me know that you like / love what I put in these posts.
I’ve been blessed with tons of love. But I have to be careful not to have tons of posts just on the love. Not only is it tons of work after receiving love, I can only make it so funny (especially to those not in the WordPress orbit).
I also don’t want to come across to arrogant. I need to still be able to get my head through the doors .
~~~

STOP!  Hi there random reader from Google!

I feel so privileged that that you clicked your way here. But why??

What about love drove you here? WHO CARES!!  You are here! Yipee for me!

I haven’t scared you away yet did I? Hope not.

Listen, the rest of this post isn’t funny, so if you want to laugh, at least check out some of the other posts, they are way funnier. And if you like what you see, just click “like” on the bottom and maybe that little “follow me” button on the top left, to get more of my Laughing at Everyday Life fun.

~~~
I now return you to the original post about all the love I was receiving….
So here is my goal. Collect the love and share it back towards the end of the month.
This month has been crazy with love. It really makes you feel good (cue the big head getting out the door problem)
Below is a list of folks that showed me love in the past few weeks. Please check out their blogs. I love them and think that you will as well.
Driving Someone Nuts! Oh the Fun!
I love driving someone nuts… Let’s face it, for some, it’s not really a far drive.
Sometimes you just have to say the right thing, sometimes do something small, or something as little as just disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing. Some people poke people. I’m not a poker. That hurts……………………….my finger….
Someone posted the above picture on Facebook and I had to “Share” on my page.
(for the record, that creature in the corner is a little disturbing tho)
Where was I? Oh yea….
So I posted that only to find what I thought was my little secret really wasn’t.  LOL… Turns out many already suspected this.
One friend even thought of me immediately before realizing I was the one who posted it.
Hmmmmm….. Being that I’ve known her for over 20 years (OMG I feel old now)…I think as Lady Gaga would say… I Was Born This Way….
Like I always say, I love to laugh. I can’t help it if you people provide me hours of entertainment. On slow days sometimes I have to help it along. So I irritate you to stir things up. It helps me laugh, and normally the others laugh that are around to witness the irritation.
So see, I’m providing a service. I’m a good Samaritan. A regular Laughing Ambassador.
Do any of you do this?
Would any of you admit to doing this?
Oh hell, just go do this……..
Well, maybe not that, but go irritate others just for fun today.
It’s ok. I’ll give you permission.
Plus you can blame me.
People Crack Me Up
People crack me up…
5 people walk in the store….
Me:  ” Hello there”
Them: Silence
~~
Me: “Let me know if there is something you want to try?”
Them: Silence
~~
Me: Stare off a moment…Make direct eye contact with one…Hello
Her: Silence
~~
Me: One of them will say hi dang it!  Ten year old boy staring at me now…”Would you like to try something?”
Him: Silence…grabs mom’s shirt (what am I gonna attack him?)
~~
Me: “Just let me know when anyone is ready”
Them: Still silence
~~
Me: Walk off a minute…mumble to self, “they all can’t be deaf”
Them: still just staring off at the menu
~~
Me: Wander back. One more try…”Any one decided yet?”
Them: Silence…. They are killing me!!!
~~
An eternity later (or 10 minutes if looking at a real clock – no joke)
~~
Mom: Chocolate
Me: Knock me over with a feather…they do talk!! Ok, at least one of them…..
~~
Turns out they all can talk!
Just not to me.
I’m pretty sure I showered this morning.
sniff sniff…. yep
~~
Sad part is….. People do this all the time to us… never acknowledging us.. I have to teach the kids not to take it personally.
Even sadder?  These people actually turned out really nice once they ate they ice cream. Then they started talking to me and laughing.
People are odd creatures….
A Dog’s Unconditional Love
Thank you for all the kind words yesterday about my family’s loss of our dog Bingo yesterday.
Today has been a sad day as you can imagine. As I’ve said before, my dog was more of a shadow than anything. She followed me everywhere, especially in the morning as I got ready. Probably since she knew I would be leaving the house to go to work, she always wanted to stick close to me until I left.
As I walked out of bed and didn’t have to step over her, or when I showered when she normally laid on the mat waiting for me, I was sad knowing she would never be there again. I’m sure when I go home in a few hours, not being greeted by her at the front door will bring up that sadness as well. Her tail a wagging as she was so excited.
My goal this post is not to be sad, but to celebrate what many people have found in their lives. Our Pet’s are our family. Especially for those like myself that never had children. They become your children. Especially after 14 years together.
But a dog’s love is different. I love cats, but they are independent and can have an attitude at times. But that is part of their charm.
A dog however, they only want to love you and for you to love them back.
They just want to let you know that they will always be there for you…
They teach us to just relax and let the wind blow in our fur I mean hair and enjoy the ride…
Thank you to those of you that shared your story of a lost pet and for those of you who shared that you recognize that your beloved “child” is nearing the end as well.
Fill your heart with happy memories. Sure they might make you sad, but even in death, our dogs continue to show us the love they had for us. All you have to do is revisit these memories.
I’ll Miss You Bingo Dauber
Our Bingo Dauber
A few months ago I wrote a post about my Bingo Dauber, my 14-year-old black lap. (My Bingo Dauber Should Have Been a Shadow).  I spoke about how for years she followed me every where. Yes, even into the bathroom. If I moved more than 3 feet, she goes with me.
For 14 years she has met me at the door when I came home.
I wrote about how we knew her time with us was slowly coming to an end. Walking for her became more and more difficult. She could barely push-off her hind legs to stand up.
Last night she couldn’t stand at all. No matter how hard she tried. I stayed up with her all night making sure she could drink, she could go to the bathroom, etc. If I tried to move that three feet, she would try to scoot to me if she couldn’t stand.
I would lift her hind legs, to get her up, then she could walk a few feet. But then she would sit once again. Her and I did this all night long ~~ 2am, 5am, 7am, the time ticked away. My little girl was not feeling well and I was wanted to be there for her.
The hardest thing over the past few months has been knowing that mentally she was still feeling like a spry little pup. Her body however, has had different plans.
As we lifted her dead weight of 89 lbs into the car so we could take her to the vet, my heart was heavy as I knew deep down what was probably going to happen.
The doctor confirmed that while other medicines might help relieve the pain, her hind legs were too atrophied and she would probably never stand or walk again.
~~~~

Today, we laid our Bingo Dauber to Rest. She no longer is in pain. She is running around and doing all the things she loved for so many years.

Through our sadness we will hold on to the love, the laughter, the great memories we have had over the past 14 years. As you know, even when you know the time is coming, you always feel you have a few more months.

Those of you that read my blog, know this is usually the spot where I spring some joke or “gotcha” moment. I wish that was the case today. I wish my baby was still here. But today I had to let her go….

We will miss you Bingo …. but we know you are no longer in pain and you are running like you use too. When we think of you we will always smile at the great memories we had together.

We also know you will always be in our hearts and you will be the first one to greet us when we cross to the other side years from now.

No kidding, especially when trying to go undetected

My kind of pup! I want him!

LOL, this one just makes me smile

How us “non normal” folks look to the poor “normal” folks
